Is there something wrong with my heater? A hot water heater that doesn’t produce enough hot water can be incredibly frustrating, especially during the cold rainy season when warmth is essential. There are several common reasons this happens, and in many cases, there are simple solutions you can try before calling us for a service appointment. Do take note that this article is meant for heaters which are functioning but not producing enough hot water.
1. Waiting Time for Storage Heaters
Many of us are often in a rush or hurry these days. Unfortunately, our hot water tank requires some time for the hot water to reach the maximum temperature. But fret not, all our heaters only require an estimated 10mins for at least some warmth temperature (35°C) In order for the heater to reach the maximum temperature, do refer to the chart below for the recommended heating times for the different heater sizes.
Solution:
The larger the water volume, the longer it takes for the hot water tank to reach the maximum temperature before the thermostat stops the water from heating further.
2. The Storage Heater Size isn't Sufficient for Your Bathroom Fittings
One of the most common reasons your water heater might not be providing enough hot water is that it's simply undersized for your bathroom fittings. If your heater connected to a large rain shower and even a basin, your heater may be undersized for the configuration.
Solution:
Storage Water Heaters: If you have an older or undersized water heater, consider upgrading to one that’s larger and can handle the increased demand. We recommend you to look for any of our authorized dealers for more information about the
Instant (Tankless) Water Heaters: Instant heaters are meant to only increase the temperature of the water with a fix amount. Meaning to say if the weather is colder or let's say it is a rainy season, the average temperature of the water will decrease. The instant heater may not be able to cope with this and the overall heated water output will decrease.
If you have checked all the above and it is still not hot enough!
